The Truth is Out!

What we all knew to be true is finally out there for all to deal with. . .

Katrina. . .THINK before you whine!

I've heard much too much whining about how "George Bush's" federal government did too little too late to help the victims of Katrina. Few have noted that it was only AFTER they were urged to a decision BY THE PRESIDENT that the mayor of N.O. in the company of the governor of LA ordered a mandatory evacuation. And still they failed to make provision for those who could not get out on their own. The mayor should have martialed all local resources to get EVERYONE out. He did not. The governor should have begun mobilizing the national guard BEFORE THE STORM STRUCK. She did not.

So now he's "pissed" at the federal response. Instead of deflecting blame to the federal government, and whining about how bad things are he should be LEADING his city. My guess is he's doing the best he can. Not good enough.

Update: Read this which reinforces what I suspected to be true of Mr. Nagin. Bill Hobbs is a better researcher than I am.

Update, again: Read this from a writer who is far mor articulate than I can ever hope to be. . .

John Roberts

John Roberts is considerably more conservative than some would like. He is demonstrably more conservative than the justice he's been nominated to replace. There is evidence, however, that most Americans think he should be confirmed.

It will be interesting to see what the public response is if the dems cannot resist the urge to bork Judge Roberts.

Are Howard's rants making a difference?

One wonders why the dems'own poll shows their popularity with the American public slipping even faster than the Republicans'!

Is this good news? This guy may have a history, and his plans for the future are not reassuring, as outlined in the last week or so. . .

Army makes the quota for June!

"I will tell you that for the month of June, the United States Army active recruiting is over 100 percent of its goal, which is a turnaround from where they've been the last several months," Air Force Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told an audience of Pentagon employees.

Good. Let's get on with it!

. . .is a point well made.

So. . .Karl has offended the dems.
He should (according to the dems)be repudiated by his boss, or better yet resign!

Memo to dems:
Karl was right!
DICK was wrong.
Has DICK been repudiated?
Does DICK still have a job?

Dick, you still don't get it. Our interpretation of what you said was not wrong, Dick. Our understanding of your choice of words was not wrong, Dick.

Your statements were wrong, Dick.

Smokescreens don't help, Dick.
Colin Powell did not draw an analogy between our soldiers and the Nazis.
You did, Dick.
The FBI email did not draw an analogy between our soldiers and Soviet gulags.
You did, Dick.
No other member of the United States government drew a parallel between our soldiers and millions of murders ordered by Pol Pot.
You did, Dick.

I have learned from my statement that historical parallels can be misused and misunderstood. I sincerely regret if what I said causes anybody to misunderstand my true feelings.

Your "historical parallels" were nothing more than hateful, ignorant, treasonous lies, Dick.

More than most people, a Senator lives by his words, words are the coin of the realm in our profession. Occasionally words will fail us and occasionally we will fail words.

You have failed more than words, Dick.
You have failed the Senate, Dick.
Even though they are becoming the party of hyperbole, you have failed the Democrats, Dick.
You have failed on many levels, Dick.
And your statements indicate you still fail to understand and take responsibility for the depth and the breadth of your failure.

Kerry reinforces America's November Decision

Read this and be reassurred that the correct decision was made in the November, 2004 Presidential election. Mr. Kerry continues to make me proud of my vote.

"Because our own freedom is enhanced by the expansion of freedom in other nations, I set out the long-term goal of ending tyranny in our world. This will require the commitment of generations, but we're seeing much progress in our time. In late 2004, the people of Afghanistan defied the threats of terrorists and went to the polls to choose their leaders. The Palestinian people have elected a President who has renounced violence. And just four days from now, the people of Iraq will vote in free national elections."

President George W. Bush
